COMTES FHT AS
COMTES FHT a.s., a Czech private research organisation, is engaged in research and development (R&D) of promising metallic and other materials and their processing technologies, and provides operational R&D services such as computer modelling, software development, design, additive manufacturing, prototype and sample production for testing, material expertise and extensive material characterisation. In addition, it is involved in the education and training of young technical professionals - students of bachelor, master and doctoral programs of partner universities from the Czech Republic and abroad. It is one of the economic entities of the Pilsen Region whose main activity is R&D (see RIS3 strategy for the Pilsen Region). COMTES FHT was established in 2000 and in more than 23 years of existence it has developed into an entity with a turnover of more than 152 million CZK. In 2023, the company will have 94 FTEs. Collaborative research and development generates about half of its turnover (the share varies from year to year). COMTES FHT has successfully completed more than 90 R&D projects, including more than 10 projects directly funded by EU funds. Another 24 R&D projects are currently in progress. In the field of R&D, it cooperates closely with academia from the Czech Republic and abroad. The success of this research organisation in the application of research results is evidenced, among other things, by the authorship of almost 250 proven technologies, 20 patents (including 4 international) and 50 protected utility models. The achieved R&D results are in many cases the basis for further development, especially in companies, both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
The research institute has more than twenty years of experience in the field of heat treatment of metallic materials and their characterisation.
Role within MOWSES
COMTES FHT a.s. will mainly focus on investigation and activities in WP2. It will coordinate mainly the efforts leading to the production of the experimental material at COMTES FHT, i.e. the high strength structural steel. In particular, COMTES FHT and its team will be responsible for the hot rolling process and for communication during the early stages of the project.
